I’ve got to be honest: When I started this site, I wouldn’t have expected us to be sharing content from Vanity Fair, yet here we are. In a video piece to coincide with the opening of Bugonia, Yorgos Lanthimos opened up to Vanity Fair, taking the time to explain his films, and peppering in some of his own backstory along the way. If you don’t have time for the full 42-minute interview, the first ten minutes or so talk about his early days and doing commercial work as his “day job.” Be warned, you might just get sucked into the full interview anyhow.

So kudos to director Claire Buss, and the rest of the crew at Vanity Fair for giving us this great overview of Lanthimos’ body of work, straight from the director himself.
