Sean Baker is widely revered in the independent film community, not only for his storytelling and self-proclaimed love of cinema, but also his embrace of new technology and lean shoots.
In this newly released mini-documentary from behind the scenes of 2017’s The Florida Project, we see Baker and his crew going through the trials and triumphs of movie making that will be recognizable to anyone who has worked on a low-budget film set.
There’s something about this mini-doc, that makes it feel more visceral to me than other behind the scenes shorts. The PTSD starts to bubble up watching the (somewhat) controlled chaos unfold. You’ve been warned:
