One of the great things about Scrappy Cinema is that we’re “human-sized.” Meaning, we can reply to all of our emails, respond on Instagram, and take the time to really learn more about people who choose to follow us here and on Instagram. (Thank you, by the way!)
So now I’d like to try to use that size to everyone’s benefit, with something we’re calling “Let’s All Meet In The Lobby!” You know that feeling at a film festival when you run into someone, or you chat with someone briefly while waiting for your screening? At the very least, it gives you a chance to commiserate with someone else in the industry. And, it could also lead to future collaborations, mentors, etc.
I want to bring that same feeling to Scrappy Cinema, so here’s the plan; First, I’d like to get to meet as many of you as possible. So, let’s have a brief one-on-one chat. You can talk about your current projects, past projects, hopes and dreams, whatever. And I’ll share some stories from my filmmaking, and get your thoughts on Scrappy Cinema so far. Think of it as bumping into someone at a festival, without having to leave your house, or pay for anything.
We’ve setup a calendar here, for you to book a half hour block. If we only chat for a few minutes, that’s fine.
Then, down the road, I hope to bring people together who could benefit from chatting with each other, with group calls, and hopefully in-person meetings down the road.
But for now, I hope you’ll take a few minutes to chat, make a connection, and do it without leaving your house. This experiment will only work with your participation. Here’s that calendar link again. I hope to talk to all of you soon!
