The Philadelphia Unnamed Film Festival (better known as Puff) kicks off its 11th annual edition later this week, in an underground theater. The location is fitting as the festival features alternative, DIY, or some would say “underground” films. With a healthy dose of horror (while not exclusively horror by any stretch), the festival creates a fun, tight-knit atmosphere.
While some festivals cater to large, mainstream film fans, Puff stays focused on the filmmakers, both during the festival and beyond. The audience is largely comprised of other filmmakers, and the intimate venue makes it a great opportunity to connect.
I talked with Will Keiper, the festival director and founder to learn more about what makes the festival unique:
